Contribution Experts

I don't know about you guys, but I can tend to have a really, really big ego.. The term "Contribution Expert", though it is flattering can be a big problem for me, if I'm not careful.

I'm assuming that we have this title due to a lack of the exact right language to put on it. Therefore, it probably shouldn't be taken too seriously.
It is a tough question to answer: what do we call people who have dedicated their lives to contribution? To distinguish them as the examples to follow as we move thr… Continue

My Positivity Throne

With a family run business and changes in the family, it's been taking me a while to find my footing.
Not too long ago, I posed the question, "How do you hold positive energy around negative people?" to Matthew. His answer, in his classic, lighthearted style, "Get off the positivity throne... and allow people to be what they are", stung. He went on to ask, "Who's actually being negative?"

As soon as he said it, a couple of my foundational life principles came screeching through my mind. "Attack… Continue

Mumbling with My Monkey

I love writing blogs for CNP. I made a personal, private commitment that this would be part of my contribution to the group. This is easy when things go my way. Not so easy when I'm in the thick of it.

I do this because I know that we are all in this together.
It's exciting when I learn something new and though I'm still deep in process, I am ready to share:
It's ok to have contrast. It's ok to admit that I'm in battle with my own thinking. It's ok that I'm human. It's ok that there is a monkey… Continue

Contributing or Controlling

Focusing on a life of contribution doesn't mean that I am immune to life as it happens or that I am always living in a state of perfect grace and tranquility. It simply means that I have access to inspiration and solutions as my business and life grows. The concepts work quite well, when I can remember to use them.

A week or so ago, I was invited through CNP to take a look at Thach's new blog. What I like most are the coaching calls he has posted. So far, there is one in particular that is my f… Continue

Leading By Example

Like our children, our employees and staff need to know what's expected of them, what their boundaries are and given the empowerment and the tools to accomplish their goals. Since we are all still growing and learning, it is unrealistic for me to assume that all adults behave in a mature, productive manner at all times and can grasp every growth concept I offer. After all, I don't always get new ideas right away. Why would I expect it out of everyone else?

One great example of confusing this fa… Continue

Sorry for taking so long to respond. This website confuses me. Hearch Thach N. speak at ProLango.com mixer on August 3, 2009. Now I understand. My general philosophy in life over the last 30 years aligns with Thach.

I've got some ideas I've shared with Paul Anderson of ProLango.com about what I would like to do. I've reitred from my usual line of work and am seeking something totally different.

Hi Brooke! How are you? You look great!
I definitely need to get a professional picture taken!
Looking at your friends, you are busy networking. Are you still at Bellevue Chamber? How long have you been with CNP? Thanks for your message!

so far we have been in the paper, people mag, oprah show we have ads in the basic phone books yet we still have a hard time getting out there. we are on the web. we do real estate trade shows but somehow we are just not getting the word out there. we even did footwork flyers. i am sure t.v. and radio are way to costly but someone was telling me that tv has to air a percentage of non profit things and we do have a non profit company. any thoughts ? thanks again !

I saw you too but since I know you, I did not come talk with you :0) I had a great time and made plenty of great connections at the last CNP event. I had a couple of people who had never gone as well and they loved it!
