Kaylah's Fight for Life

Kaylah has recently been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma.
Rhabdomyosarcoma affects approximately 250 children in the U.S. every year. It is one of
the fastest spreading malignant forms of cancer and little is known about it. Kaylah has
already began a vigorous treatment plan which includes 10months of chemotherapy and a
total of 15weeks of radiation as a patient at Children’s Hospital. She will undergo some of the
harshest drugs the human body can tolerate, especially in a 4year old. The side effects are
vicious, time consuming, and the things she will miss out on are numerous. This four year old
little girl has the battle of her life ahead of her. With a long road of recovery ahead, she still
greets the world with a smile day in and day out.
While we are busy with our daily lives, the hustle and bustle of everyday tasks, I ask you to
remember Kaylah and her family. They did not ask for this ailment for their daughter. They
have every right to be angry, yet through all my conversations with them, all they ask for is
everyone’s prayer. I believe we can do better than that. With the support of the community
and local businesses we can make a difference in helping Kaylah fight her battle against
cancer and improve her chance of survival.
We are asking your help in sponsoring a ‘hole’ in our tournament, donating prizes or actively
playing. It will be held at Gleneagle Golf Course on July 12th 2009. Together we can make a
difference in forever changing the life of Kaylah Talamantez
